Getting Started

How do I start playing?+
Visit play.dungeongames.io or open the game inside the Dungeon Wallet app. Connect your wallet (Dungeon Wallet or Keplr), then you'll land in your city. Start by building a Farm and Lumber Mill to generate resources, then upgrade your Barracks to train troops.
Do I need a wallet to play?+
No. You can play without a wallet — just tap 'Play without wallet' on the start screen. Blockchain features (NFT minting, marketplace, $DGN rewards) require a connected wallet, but all core gameplay is free.
What's the best first thing to do?+
Build your resource buildings (Farm, Lumber Mill, Quarry, Market) to generate passive income. Then summon a few heroes at the Summoning Gate and head to the Battle tab to start clearing biome stages. Idle earnings accumulate while you're away.
How does the tutorial work?+
A guided tutorial walks you through building your first structure, summoning a hero, and starting a battle. You can skip it at any time. If you skipped it, just explore the tabs: City for buildings, Heroes for your roster, Battle for combat, and World for expeditions.

Heroes & Classes

How do I get heroes?+
Heroes are summoned at the Summoning Gate using gold (free summons) or gems (premium summons). Premium summons have higher chances of rare, epic, and legendary heroes. You also get a free daily summon. Each hero has a class, rarity, gender, and element.
What hero classes are there?+
There are 12 classes: Fighter, Ranger, Cleric, Paladin, Rogue, Wizard, Barbarian, Druid, Monk, Sorcerer, Warlock, and Bard. Each class has a unique ability (e.g., Wizard casts Fireball, Cleric heals, Rogue backstabs). Classes also determine base stat distributions.
What are hero rarities?+
Heroes come in 6 rarities: Common (gray), Uncommon (green), Rare (blue), Epic (purple), Legendary (orange), and Mythic (red). Higher rarity heroes have better base stats and stat growth per level. Pity system guarantees a legendary every 50 summons.
How do synergies work?+
Placing heroes of specific classes together in your squad unlocks synergy bonuses. For example, 2+ Fighters = ATK boost, Cleric + Paladin = Holy Shield defense bonus. Check the synergy bar during battle to see active bonuses. Experiment with different squad compositions.
How does hero fusion work?+
Combine 3 heroes of the same rarity to create 1 hero of the next rarity tier. Great for upgrading duplicate common/uncommon heroes into rares and epics. Fusion is available from the Heroes panel.
What are hero skill trees?+
Each hero has a skill tree where you unlock passive bonuses (ATK, DEF, HP, crit) using skill points earned from leveling. Different builds let you specialize heroes as tanks, damage dealers, or supports.

Buildings & City

What buildings can I build?+
Your city has 18 buildings: Tavern (hero XP), Market (gold), Lumber Mill (wood), Quarry (stone), Farm (food), Barracks (troop ATK/DEF), Blacksmith (crafting), Alchemist (potions), Gem Mine (gems), Guild Hall (guild features), Summoning Gate (hero summons), Castle (+5% production), City Walls (defense), Pet Hatchery (pets), Relic Hall (relics), Research Lab (tech tree), Training Ground (troops), and Hospital (heals wounded soldiers).
How do building upgrades work?+
Each building can be upgraded using wood and stone. Costs scale by 15% per level. Higher levels increase production rates, unlock new features, and provide larger bonuses. The Castle gives +5% to ALL production per level — prioritize it.
What does the Hospital do?+
The Hospital heals wounded soldiers. When your troops take casualties in battle or world map expeditions, they become wounded instead of dying permanently. The Hospital automatically heals them back to active duty. Higher hospital levels heal faster — at level 10, troops heal roughly every 4 seconds.
Can I rearrange my buildings?+
Yes! Long-press (or drag) any building to move it around the city map. Your layout is saved automatically. The map is scrollable and zoomable — pinch to zoom, drag to pan.
What's the building queue?+
You start with 1 building queue slot (upgrades happen one at a time). You can unlock additional queue slots using $DGN tokens for parallel construction. The queue shows on the left side of your city.
What are decorations?+
Decorations are placeable objects (statues, fountains, banners, gardens) that provide permanent stat bonuses to your city. Each decoration has a specific bonus (e.g., Gold Fountain: +5% gold production, War Banner: +3% troop ATK). Place them anywhere on your city map. Collect decorations from events, the shop, and dungeon rewards.

Combat & Battles

How does auto-battle work?+
Battles are turn-based but auto-played. Your squad of up to 4 heroes fights enemies. Turn order is determined by speed (SPD). Each turn, heroes auto-attack and have a chance to trigger their class ability. You can toggle AUTO mode and adjust speed (1x, 2x, 3x).
What are the combat mechanics?+
Damage = ATK minus target DEF (minimum 1). Critical hits deal 1.8x damage and are based on SPD. Heroes can dodge attacks based on the attacker's speed advantage. Elements create a rock-paper-scissors triangle: Fire > Nature > Ice > Fire, Lightning > Water > Earth > Lightning. Light and Dark are neutral.
How do bosses work?+
Boss enemies appear at certain stages. At 50% HP, bosses enter Phase 2: they gain +50% ATK and start applying debuffs (Armor Break, Silence, Charm, Bleed, Freeze, Curse). Boss fights reward more gold, XP, and have higher gear drop chances.
What are status effects?+
There are 12 status effects: ATK Up, DEF Up, Burn (fire DoT), Poison (nature DoT), Regen (heal over time), Stun (skip turn), Armor Break (-40% DEF), Silence (blocks abilities), Charm (attack own team), Bleed (HP loss/turn), Freeze (skip turn + extra damage taken), and Curse (-15% all stats).
What's the combo system?+
Landing consecutive hits on enemies builds a combo counter (shown in the top-right). Higher combos mean your heroes are attacking without the enemy hitting back — a sign your squad is strong enough. Combos reset when the enemy lands a hit.
How do multi-wave battles work?+
Stages have 1-3 waves of enemies. After clearing a wave, the next wave appears immediately. Your heroes keep their current HP between waves — no healing between waves makes positioning and sustain important.

Gear System

What gear slots are there?+
Each hero has 6 gear slots: Weapon, Helmet, Chest, Boots, Ring, and Amulet. Weapons and Chest provide the largest stat boosts. Rings and Amulets often have special substats like crit rate, lifesteal, or elemental damage.
What are gear rarities?+
Gear comes in 5 rarities: Common (gray, 0 substats), Uncommon (green, 1 substat), Rare (blue, 2 substats), Epic (purple, 3 substats), and Legendary (orange, 4 substats). Higher rarity gear has better base stats and more substat slots.
How does gear salvage work?+
Open the Gear panel, select unwanted gear, and tap 'Salvage'. Salvaging breaks down gear into scraps. The number of scraps depends on gear rarity and level. Scraps are used for rerolling substats and crafting at the Blacksmith.
How do I reroll substats?+
Use scraps to reroll a single substat on a piece of gear. Tap the gear, select the substat you want to change, and spend scraps. The substat is replaced with a random new one. Legendary gear costs more scraps to reroll but has better substat ranges.
Are there class restrictions on gear?+
Yes. Weapons are class-restricted (e.g., Staffs for Wizards, Swords for Fighters, Bows for Rangers). Armor slots (Helmet, Chest, Boots) are universal. Rings and Amulets are universal but some have class-specific bonus effects.
What's the crafting system?+
The Blacksmith lets you craft gear using recipes and gathered materials. Different recipe categories produce weapons, armor, accessories, and consumables. Higher Blacksmith levels unlock better recipes. Crafted gear can roll higher substats than dropped gear.

Pets & Dragons

How do I get pets?+
Build the Pet Hatchery in your city, then hatch eggs using gold or gems. Pets come in different rarities and provide passive bonuses like gold boost, XP boost, attack boost, or defense boost. Assign one active pet for its bonus to apply.
How does pet evolution work?+
Feed your pets XP items or duplicate pet shards to level them up. Once a pet reaches max level for its tier, you can evolve it to the next tier for stronger bonuses and a new appearance. Evolution requires evolution stones, earned from dungeon runs and events.
How do I get dragons?+
Dragons are hatched from dragon eggs found in deep dungeon floors (floor 7+), event rewards, or the premium shop. Each dragon has an element and a unique breath attack that can be used in dungeon combat alongside your heroes.
How does dragon breeding work?+
Combine two dragons in the Dragon Roost to breed a new dragon with hybrid abilities from both parents. Breeding takes time and costs gold. The offspring's element and abilities are influenced by the parents — experiment with different combinations for rare hybrids.
What are pet and dragon synergy bonuses?+
Equipping a pet and dragon of matching elements grants a synergy bonus (e.g., Fire pet + Fire dragon = +15% Fire damage). Certain pet-dragon pairs unlock unique combo abilities in dungeon combat. Check the Synergy tab in the Pets panel for available combos.
What are relics?+
Relics are powerful artifacts equipped through the Relic Hall. There are 12 unique relics (ATK Ring, DEF Shield, HP Heart, Speed Boots, Gold Coin, Crit Eye, Lifesteal, Fire Orb, Frost Ward, Dragon Heart, Void Star, Cosmic Gem). Each can be upgraded for stronger effects.
How does Research work?+
The Research Lab unlocks a tech tree with upgrades across multiple categories. Research takes time to complete and provides permanent bonuses like increased production, combat stats, or unlock new features. Only one research can be active at a time.

Dungeon Castle

What is the Dungeon Castle?+
The Dungeon Castle is an on-chain building powered by $DGN. Burn DGN tokens to receive DRAGUU, then stake DRAGUU to construct and upgrade castle rooms. Each room provides permanent bonuses to dungeon runs and resource production.
How does the DGN burn and DRAGUU staking work?+
Open the Castle panel and tap 'Burn DGN'. Your DGN tokens are burned on-chain and you receive DRAGUU at a 1:1 ratio. Stake DRAGUU into castle rooms to activate their bonuses. Unstaking returns your DRAGUU but disables the room bonus.
What rooms can I build?+
Castle rooms include: Throne Room (+production), Armory (+hero ATK), Vault (+idle gold cap), Treasury (+gem income), War Room (+troop power), Library (+research speed), Dragon Lair (+dragon stats), and Dungeon Gate (+dungeon loot). Each room has 10 upgrade levels.
Can other players raid my castle?+
Yes. Players on the world map can launch siege attacks against your castle. Successful raids steal a portion of your unstaked DRAGUU. Keep your DRAGUU staked in rooms and upgrade City Walls to reduce raid losses.
What is dungeon descent?+
Dungeon descent is a weekly challenge where you push as deep as possible into an endless dungeon. Your castle room bonuses apply. Leaderboard rankings at the end of each week grant DRAGUU and exclusive cosmetics.

Dungeon Crawling

What is dungeon crawling?+
A first-person 3D dungeon exploration mode with procedurally generated floors. Navigate corridors, find treasure, avoid traps, solve puzzles, fight enemies, and face floor bosses. Each floor has a unique theme (Stone Depths, Infernal Halls, Frozen Crypt, etc.).
How many dungeon floors are there?+
The dungeon has 11 themed floors that scale in difficulty. Grid sizes grow from 12x12 to 20x20 as you go deeper. Each floor has 6-10 rooms, secret passages, locked doors, merchants, fountains, and a boss guarding the stairs to the next floor.
What can I find in dungeons?+
Treasure chests (gold/gems/gear), fountains (free healing), shrines (full heal), merchants (buy items), puzzle rooms (riddle challenges for rewards), room events (narrative choices), traps (spike/poison/teleport damage), hazards (lava/ice/darkness), and secret rooms (hidden treasure).
How does the AI Dungeon Master work?+
An AI-powered Dungeon Master narrates your adventure with unique descriptions for each encounter. It adapts to your progress, hero composition, and floor theme. The DM creates atmospheric text that makes each dungeon run feel unique.
What are floor modifiers?+
Random modifiers applied to each floor: Cursed Floor (+30% enemy ATK), Lucky Floor (+50% loot), Fortified (+40% enemy HP), Haunted (+20% enemy stats), Treasure Trove (2x gold), Training Ground (+80% XP), Bloodmoon (+25% all + 60% loot), Peaceful (-20% enemy stats).

PvP & Siege

What is the World Map?+
A massive 8000×8000 explorable map divided into 16 zones (4×4 grid), each with unique themes like Frozen Tundra, Volcanic Crags, and Mystic Expanse. You can attack NPC cities, mine resource nodes, hunt monsters, fight the World Boss, and — most importantly — attack real players.
How do marches work?+
Tap on a target (NPC city, resource node, monster, or real player) and send your team marching. March duration depends on distance. You can have up to 3 active marches at once. The march queue panel on the left shows active marches with countdown timers.
Can I attack real players?+
Yes! Real player cities appear on the map with a gold pulsing beacon and '★ PLAYER ★' label. Tap a player to scout their defenses or attack them directly. Winning steals a portion of their resources. Players can buy shields with $DGN for protection.
What is the King's Castle?+
The King's Castle sits at the center crossroads of the 4 inner zones. Players can compete to claim the throne by attacking it. The current King receives +10% to all resource production (including offline). King status lasts until another player defeats you.
What is the World Boss?+
A massive boss that spawns periodically in an edge zone. It has enormous HP (50,000+ scaling with your kills) and power. Defeating it grants huge gold, gem, and XP rewards. World Bosses get stronger each time you kill one.
How do I find other players?+
Real players appear with gold beacons on the map. You can also tap the 'Players' hub button at the bottom of the World Map to see a list of all online players with GO buttons that pan your camera directly to them.
How do siege attacks work?+
Siege attacks target a player's City Walls and Castle. Send troops with siege units for bonus damage against walls. If the walls fall, your troops loot resources and unstaked DRAGUU. The defender's Hospital heals wounded troops after the attack. Shields (purchasable with DGN) prevent attacks entirely.
How do shields work?+
Shields protect your city from PvP attacks for a set duration (8h, 24h, or 72h). Purchase shields with $DGN from the shop. While a shield is active, no player can attack your city. Shields drop automatically if you attack another player.

Army & Troops

What are troops?+
Troops are soldiers trained at the Barracks that provide passive stat bonuses to your heroes. There are 5 types: Soldiers (tanky, +DEF/HP), Archers (damage, +ATK/crit), Cavalry (speed + crit), Siege (pure ATK), and Healers (+HP). Each type has 4 tiers unlocked by barracks level.
How do wounded troops work?+
When your army takes casualties in world map battles or city attacks, troops become wounded instead of permanently dying. Wounded troops can't fight until healed. Build a Hospital to automatically heal wounded troops. Without a hospital, your wounded troops stay injured.
What's the casualty rate?+
Victories cause light casualties (~5-8% of troops wounded). Defeats cause heavier casualties (~15-20% wounded). The Training Ground role bonus and higher hero power reduce casualty rates. Always keep your Hospital upgraded to recover quickly.
How do I send troops on expeditions?+
Go to the World tab and tap on NPC cities, resource nodes, or monsters. You'll see options to attack, mine, or hunt. Select a team and send them marching. March duration depends on distance. Rewards are granted when the march completes.

Economy & Progression

What resources are there?+
Five resources: Gold (main currency), Gems (premium currency), Food (troop training), Wood (building upgrades), and Stone (building upgrades). Plus Energy, which is consumed by world map battles and dungeon runs, and regenerates over time.
How do idle earnings work?+
Your buildings produce resources even while offline. When you return, you collect accumulated earnings (up to 8 hours, at 50% efficiency). Castle level, VIP status, prestige bonuses, guild buffs, and weekend bonuses all multiply idle earnings.
What's the prestige system?+
After clearing stage 50, you can prestige (rebirth). This resets your progress but gives a permanent multiplier to all production and combat stats. Each prestige level makes the next run faster and more powerful.
How does VIP work?+
VIP levels are earned by spending $DGN tokens. Higher VIP levels provide gold production bonuses, idle speed boosts, and other perks. VIP is permanent — once unlocked, you keep the benefits forever.
Are there daily bonuses?+
Yes! Daily login rewards, free daily hero summon, free daily relic summon, daily quests (gold/gems), weekly quests (bigger rewards), and Battle Pass progression. Weekend gold bonus (1.5x) and Wednesday double XP are automatic.
What can I spend $DGN on?+
In-game $DGN purchases include: gem packs, VIP upgrades, building queue slots, shield protection from PvP attacks, energy refills, and NFT marketplace items. All $DGN transactions go through your connected Dungeon Wallet or Keplr wallet.

Social & Multiplayer

How does chat work?+
Tap the 'Chat' button in the top bar (or from your Profile) to open the chat panel. There are three channels: World (everyone), Guild (your guild members only), and DM (direct messages to specific players). Messages are sent to and received from the server in real-time with 5-second polling.
How do referrals work?+
Open your Profile (tap 'Me' in the top-right of the HUD) to see your referral code. Share your code or link with friends. When they make $DGN purchases in-game, you earn 10% of the transaction value as a referral reward, paid automatically to your wallet.
Where is my referral code?+
Your referral code is displayed prominently in your Profile panel. Tap 'Me' in the top-right corner of the screen. You'll see buttons to copy your code or copy a shareable link (play.dungeongames.io?ref=YOUR_CODE).
How do guilds work?+
Join or create a guild through the Guild Hall building. Guild members get gold production bonuses, can participate in Guild Wars (competitive scoring), fight Guild Bosses (cooperative raid), and compete in weekly events. Donate resources to level up the guild for bigger bonuses.
What is the Arena?+
The Arena is a PvP mode where you fight AI-controlled versions of other players' squads. Win to gain rating, lose to drop. Arena tickets reset daily. Seasonal rewards are given based on your final rating. Weekly rulesets rotate to keep things fresh.
How do Guild Wars work?+
Guild Wars are weekly competitive events. Guilds are matched against others of similar power. Members earn points by winning PvP battles, completing dungeon floors, and donating resources. The guild with the most points at the end of the week wins bonus gold, gems, and exclusive guild cosmetics.
How do friend codes and referrals work?+
Open your Profile to find your friend code. Share it with friends — when they enter your code during signup, both of you receive gem rewards. You also earn 10% of any $DGN purchases your referrals make, paid directly to your wallet. There's no limit on how many friends you can refer.

Battle Pass & Events

What is the Battle Pass?+
The Battle Pass is a seasonal progression track with 50 tiers of rewards. Earn Battle Pass XP by completing daily tasks, weekly challenges, and in-game milestones. Each tier unlocks rewards on the free track. A premium track (purchased with gems or DGN) offers additional rewards at every tier.
How do I earn Battle Pass XP?+
Daily tasks (e.g., win 5 battles, upgrade a building, complete a dungeon floor) grant 50-200 XP each. Weekly challenges grant 500-1000 XP. Clearing new campaign stages, winning PvP battles, and participating in events also contribute XP.
What rewards does the Battle Pass give?+
Free track: gold, food, wood, stone, summon tickets, gear chests, and pet shards. Premium track: gems, epic/legendary gear, exclusive hero skins, dragon eggs, DRAGUU, and a unique legendary hero at tier 50.
What are seasonal events?+
Time-limited events run alongside each Battle Pass season (roughly 4-6 weeks). Events include boss rush tournaments, guild raid competitions, dungeon speed runs, and themed challenges. Event rewards include exclusive cosmetics, titles, and limited-edition heroes.
Do Battle Pass tiers reset?+
Yes. Each season resets progress to tier 0. Unclaimed rewards from the previous season are lost, so claim everything before the season ends. Premium status must be purchased again each season.

Tips & Tricks

What should I prioritize as a new player?+
Focus on: 1) Upgrade Castle first (+5% all production per level), 2) Build all resource buildings early, 3) Summon heroes daily with the free summon, 4) Push campaign stages for idle gold income, 5) Join a guild ASAP for gold bonuses and guild events.
How do I progress faster?+
Keep your heroes leveled and equipped with the best gear. Salvage unused gear for scraps and reroll substats on your best pieces. Complete daily tasks for Battle Pass XP. Use expeditions to gather resources while you're away. Prestige once you hit stage 50 for permanent multipliers.
What's the best way to spend gems?+
Premium hero summons (pity system guarantees legendaries), energy refills when pushing new content, and the premium Battle Pass track if you play daily. Avoid spending gems on gold — your buildings will produce plenty over time.
How do I protect myself from PvP attacks?+
Upgrade City Walls, keep troops trained and healed, and buy shields with $DGN before logging off for extended periods. Stake your DRAGUU in castle rooms so it can't be stolen. Join an active guild — attackers think twice about hitting guild members.
Any hidden mechanics I should know about?+
Weekend gold bonus (1.5x) and Wednesday double XP are automatic — plan your big pushes around them. Pet-dragon element matching gives a hidden synergy bonus. The combo counter in battle boosts XP gain. Secret dungeon rooms always contain rare gear — look for cracked walls.
